Sadness is a normal reaction to some of life’s struggles. However, when the feelings of overwhelming sadness, hopelessness, despair, emptiness, and isolation don’t go away, this can be a sign of depression. Depression symptoms make it challenging to function as they interfere with and make it difficult to enjoy many of the activities you once did. Knowing the signs, symptoms, causes, and how to deal with depression is the first step to defeating the problem.
